A little about my drives, values and a background that shaped me…

Dr Amanda Bailey

Doctor of Chiropractic

My dad is and was an athletics coach (he’s 83 now & still going strong) My entire life he competed and coached athletics particularly long & middle distance running. At home our bookcases were full of anatomy and physiology books and he would talk about the body and performance ALL the time.

Naturally I got drawn to athletics and for years competed and trained. I had represented GB in the Junior European Clubs Championships in Finland winning the 1500m track event, qualified and ran English schools, consistently defended regional titles in both XC and track and regularly ranked high in age group UK rankings.

One summer however I developed a stress fracture  and during one of my dad’s (Chiro) sessions the chiropractor adjusted (re-aligned/cracked) my foot and that’s where the obsession started! This injury led me to seek chiropractic care and then pursue a career in chiropractic as I was fascinated by the concept of sports performance and injury prevention as it was that which led me to see a chiropractor.

After a 5 year Masters degree at Anglo-European college of chiropractic university I split my time working in private practice in the UK and travelling the world on the Ladies European Golf Tour treating the professional players whilst they were competing. I LOVED it but soon realised how much having a stable home environment was important to me.

I moved to Jersey initially on a short-term maternity cover for a local chiro and fell in love with Jersey. After nearly six years at another practice, a proposal and the corona virus pandemic I reflected on life and decided to open and run my own little practice, The Adjustment Co.

I love this unique, vitalistic profession and am very passionate about the health benefits that can be gained through a wellness lifestyle. If you want to give it a try I look forward to meeting and helping you achieve better health, improved performance, prevent/manage injuries and get more out of life!
